Change and challenges

What Do You Do When You are At Crossroads?

You want to change, but too afraid to try, but you want growth in all aspects of your life. You are apprehensive, confused, and even frustrated about the choice that you need to make.  This means you are at crossroads. Being at crossroads mean that you make a crucial decision that will make a big impact on your life. You will either turn back, going back to what you know or turn left or right into uncertainty.

You can take simple steps to get you on a path that will allow you to see some light ahead of the tunnel.

Seek Help

Seek advice from someone who you trust and is impartial. Having someone with you can lift the burden off your shoulders a bit, can make this journey less tedious. However, at the end of the day you are the one to make that choice. Getting an impartial point of view can be of significant help to direct to your next step. That person will not project his beliefs onto you but lay out the facts that will help you make the right decision.

Know your Talents/ Capabilities

Realize what you can do by paying close attention to your skills or talents. Also, weigh the pros and cons of the decision that you are making. Will it benefit you in the long run? How will it improve you in all aspects of your life?

Planning

Planning is a crucial step when you want to be on a clear path. Therefore, it is necessary to have a blueprint of what you need in order to achieve your goal. What changes will you make to accommodate this alternative path? Will it affect you emotionally or financially? Have I done my best in this current situation? In today’s world, we are accustomed to things to be done with the snap of a finger. However, making such changes need time and patience on your part. Therefore, going about this journey should be done meticulously. I always say, “Haste makes waste”.

Have an Open-Mind

Many times, you are stagnant because you are too afraid of changes or because you are certain of the same pattern that you have been repeating. There is no evolving with your mind and you are just confined in that space of thinking. You also use past experiences of others to create a perception that will guide your behaviour which leads to no solution. You have to embrace challenges in order to transform and allow your mind to be not confined to the same cycle of stagnation.

This simple, but powerful quote by Josh Jameson, ‘There comes a time when you have to choose between turning the page and closing the book.’ Have you tried everything in your current situation to be the best you can be? Or is it holding you back from growing and draining you emotionally and physically? Remember, at a certain point in your life, you will fell confused or even frustrated about the next move to make. At that moment, let calmness surround you, then listen, and you will know which way.
